Last Friday was one of those days that as a teacher, I look forward to each year! Our annual Native American Pow Wow took place and it was so much fun! Our principal came and kicked off our special day with a read aloud that the kids loved. She read to us The Legend of The Blue Bonnet which is one of my absolute favorites! After that, in my room, the first project was to construct a dream catcher! The students were given:
- an embroidery hoop
- washi tape
The students got to choose the colors and designs for their dream catchers. They turned out perfectly! Here's the link I used to help me with the supplies. We also listened to the story Grandmother's Dream Cather
before starting the project to give the students a good background.
